Young Company – Management Services

For years, we have watched young artists struggle with their transition from student to professional. The standards, vocabulary, and protocols of the audition world are not intuitive. Young artists must contend with wildly conflicting advice about how to self-manage and launch their careers. These artists are often asked to spend huge amounts of money for demos, headshots, training and representation without any knowledge of the industry standard.

Edge of the Sky is pleased to offer artist management services to help young artists through this transition. All of our clients audition to be a part of our roster, or are referred to us by one of our partner talent agencies.

If you are interested in having Edge of the Sky be your manager, please contact us HERE to set up an audition.

SERVICES

Artist Management:

We offer coordination of auditions, including assistance with scheduling, reminders and last minute coaching. We’ll help artists arrive at auditions on time, at the correct location and with everything they need to be successful.

Mentorship / Audition Training:

We pair you with an audition mentor and offer a series of workshops on the vocabulary and protocols of various audition formats. In addition to coaching, our artists will learn what to bring, how to slate and how to self-tape. As well as, how to label auditions, how to sign in and how to navigate ACTRA, EQUITY, and Casting Workbook.

Portfolio Development:

It’s incredibly difficult to find the right material to highlight an artist’s specific talents. We work with artists to find monologues, songs and scenes that are right for them. Then help them with the ongoing process of maintaining a current and professional audition binder. We also work with celebrated, industry-approved photographers and videographers to offer our clients steep discounts on headshots, reels and other media.

The Edge Young Company: Training + Performance Opportunities

By signing with us, our artists are automatically given a spot in Edge of the Sky’s Young Company. Where they will workshop new material, collaborate with other emerging artists and train with industry professionals. Performance opportunities include, our annual fundraiser show in the Toronto Fringe Festival, professional gigging at large-scale corporate functions. As well as, public workshops of new material by our resident writers and partnerships with companies like The Musical Stage Company and Outside the March. If artists are not yet affiliated with an agency, we work with them to develop an action plan. When they are ready, we connect them with one of our partner agencies (Noble Caplan Abrams or AMI).
